Information

Corfu is located in the Heptanese and it is the second largest island of the Ionian sea after Kefalonia. It has a  Mediterranean climate and excellent beaches which make it a popular destination for tourists. Corfu has lush vegetation compared to other Greek islands. It is characterized by dry, hot summers and rainy winters.

In the capital of the island you can see some of the island’s most impressive structures. The various castles and buildings are evidence of English, French and Venetian influences. Paleokastritsa, Sidari, Kassiopi and Acharavi are nice tourist places on the northern side of the island while the tiny island of Paxi is located south of Corfu. This is a place with intense cosmopolitan style due to the big number of yachts that stay anchored in its port in summer. Paxi is famous for its wonderful beaches with exotic blue color.

In fact, the uninhabited islet of Antipaxi with its crystal clear waters has few of the most wonderful beaches in Greece. You can visit the islet by boat from the port of Gaios, the capital of Paxi. Gaios, Lakka and Logos are the three villages of the island with traditional architecture and tranquil beaches.
